AREA Student Travel Grant

Applications Open for 2020 ISA Conference

The International Society of Arboriculture's Annual Conference provides students the chance to discover the latest technology, network with industry professionals, and meet students in the field from around the globe.

The Arboriculture Research and Education Academy (AREA) is currently offering five travel grants for students interested in participating at the International Society of Arboriculture Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico, August 10-12, 2020. According to ISA, recipients from North America will receive $750 USD and those from outside North America will receive $1,000 USD (up to two non-North American grants are available). Acceptance also includes complimentary conference registration and a ticket to the social event hosted by AREA.

To become a Student Travel Grant winner, you must:
• Provide a letter of support from a teacher/professor to before the deadline
• Provide an abstract in the application that will be the basis of the presentation. It should be relevant to AREA sessions, focusing on the technical and/or scientific aspects of arboriculture and urban forestry
• Submit a brief write-up (200-300 words) describing/highlighting your experience at the 2020 ISA Conference for the AREA Newsletter
• Give a 10-minute presentation in front of academics, researchers, and other conference attendees during the AREA sessions

Please note: Talks which include data analysis will be given more preference.
