ULI Announces 2020 Awards Nominations

Urban Land Institute

ULI nominations are open in 3 categories.

The Urban Land Institute has announced open awards nominations.

Jack Kemp Excellence in Affordable & Workforce Housing Awards:

These awards recognize exemplary developments that demonstrate creativity in expanding housing opportunities. Established in 2008 and named in memory of Jack Kemp, former secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the award honors developments that meet affordable and workforce housing needs and help to create mixed-income communities.

The Robert C. Larson Awards:

The Robert C. Larson Awards, named in honor of a former ULI trustee and ULI Foundation chairman, recognize innovative state and local policy initiatives that support the creation and preservation of affordable and workforce housing, specifically housing affordable to households earning at or below 120 percent of area median income.

Nominate a state or local government that is implementing a policy or initiative to support housing affordability. These can take the form of regulatory or administrative changes such as higher densities and waivers of fees, or trust funds and programs that provide grants or financing assistance.

The ULI Urban Open Space Awards:

This category recognizes transformative open spaces-including parks, plazas, squares, memorials, trails, and other non-traditional park and open space formats. ULI seeks to recognize not only large flagship projects, but also neighborhood-serving spaces that add to local quality of life or provide examples that other communities can replicate. ULI compiles and shares new ideas and best practices from submissions to share with the industry. Projects are eligible to apply if they have been open and inviting to the public at least one year as of the submission deadline. You do not need to be a ULI member to submit a project.

The final application deadline for nominations is March 6, 2020.
