One of the five 100 year-old incandescent light bulbs was relit in a darkened room to better show its warm glow.
On March 26, 2012, a lead container time capsule was removed from a corner stone of GE's Lighting's Nela Park world headquarters in Cleveland. Within, were five 100-year old incandescent light bulbs, plus such memorabilia as a photograph of S.E. Doane, head of the GE Engineering Department for GE in 1912, and a March 21, 1912 edition of the The Plain Dealer newspaper.
