Members of the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy recently celebrated their achievement of surpassing the first phase of their Capital Campaign goal.
Nearly $13 million in donations has been raised over the past five years to support the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy (BOPC), a non-profit, membership-based organization working to promote, preserve, restore, enhance and maintain Olmsted-designed parks and parkways in the greater Buffalo area of New York.
Through contributions from foundations, corporations, government agencies, community and neighborhood groups and individuals, specific park projects such as: researching and writing the 20-Year Parks Management and Restoration Plan; endowing salaries for zone gardeners who are responsible and accountable for park maintenance and upkeep; purchasing landscaping equipment to replace non-repairable equipment, and restoring historic park structures.
