ASLA Colorado kicked off 2015 with a booth at the 2015 Pro Green Expo in Denver. There, they showcased design boards from past years' competitions, a special brochure on landscape architecture, and more. It will also have a booth at the 2016 Pro Green Expo.

In February, Government Affairs Vice President David Sprunt testified before the Senate Agriculture Committee to support SB 15-119, reauthorization of the Pesticide Applicator's Act. The state bill was signed into law by the governor in May. He also spoke to the House Judiciary Committee to support HB-1197, which will prevent public sector entities from shifting the financial responsibility of contractors to design professionals. The governor signed it into law in April.

As part of the 11th annual Doors Open Denver event, Colorado ASLA members led a bike tour of Denver parks and parkways, traveling from Washington Park to Cheesman Park. Other ASLA member-led tours included the Golden Triangle, Central Platte Valley Parks, and "Doubling Downtown Denver," a tour of the Lower Downtown Development.

The year was filled with events for the chapter. The Colorado ASLA participated in the first Denver Creative Social Club in February, where 20 members gathered at the University of Colorado Denver to view the "Landscape Architecture Legacy of Dan Kiley" exhibit. As part of the 11th annual Doors Open Denver event, ASLA Colorado members Pat Mundus and Mike Weir led a bike tour of Denver parks and parkways. The Spring Social gathered together 40 members who collaborated to create the next year's event calendar as well as to brainstorm new ideas for the chapter. In May, the inaugural Sketch Denver event brought out 36 members who were eager to sketch the urban landscape. This was followed up in October with the Boulder Sketch Crawl, where seven participants sketched the natural landscape. 2016 looks promising for the Colorado Chapter, with new events on the way.

In May, 36 urban sketchers participated in the inaugural Sketch Denver event. Thanks to the success and positive feedback generated from the event, ASLA Colorado also hosted a Sketch Crawl in Boulder, and will likely be hosting more sketch events in 2016.
