Recipients of SLIF funding include various HBAs, such as the HBA of Illinois, Indiana Builders Association, Madison Area Builders Association, Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Massachusetts, the HBA of Mississippi, North Dakota Association of Builders, and the HBA of Greater Portland. An additional application for the Colorado HBA was funded before the event, totaling $135,000 distributed in 2024.
The funds support a range of initiatives aimed at addressing housing supply challenges and amending tax burdens. For instance, the HBA of Greater Portland is combating an anti-growth ballot referendum threatening the expansion of the Urban Growth Boundary. Home Builders Associations (HBAs) nationwide are confronting regulatory hurdles that threaten housing affordability. To aid in these efforts, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) has approved financial assistance through the State and Local Issues Fund (SLIF) during its 2024 International Builders' Show Meeting in Las Vegas.
