How Catalyst Fence Solutions Helped Restore Security and Dignity at Historic Cemeteries
When the city of Lake Worth Beach, Florida, set out to protect two historic cemeteries that suffered years of neglect and vandalism, officials sought a solution that balanced security, durability, and aesthetics.
Municipal leaders entrusted Bulldog Fence Company of South Florida with the project, which scoped the use of Catalyst® Fence Solutions. Bulldog Fence installed Catalyst's industrial-grade aluminum Orleans fence with quad finials and circle accents, complemented by custom gates, creating a perimeter solution to withstand Florida's harsh coastal environment while honoring the significance of the site. The result is a lasting and meaningful investment for the city that enhances security, preserves community assets and creates a welcoming environment for visitors.
Bigger than Fencing
This project was never just about installing a fence. The Pinecrest and I.A. Banks cemeteries serve as important cultural and historical landmarks within the community. Over time, deteriorating conditions left portions of the property vulnerable and diminished the overall appearance of spaces intended for remembrance and reflection. In addition, without a proper perimeter, the historic sites were subject to improper foot traffic and vandalism.
The community recognized the need to invest in these cemeteries and staged a human chain protest in 2023, which played a pivotal role in persuading the city commission to act. City leaders heard their concerns and issued a call for bids to install a fence around the perimeter; they contracted Bulldog Fence to install Catalyst Fence Solutions to secure the site.
