The School & Corporate Campus Issue of Landscape Architect and Specifier News saw many firms submit their projects for feature consideration. Altman Outdoor Venue is one of several great projects we are excited to showcase on LandscapeArchitect.com.

To supplement the renovation of the Altman auditorium, Stockton University commissioned this proposal to develop the campus space between the original building designed by GBQC and the Graves Arts and Sciences building. GBQC used a 5-foot grid to structuralize the original campus group of buildings, and it was this module that forms the three-dimensional grid of the proposed reception and gathering venue. Existing pedestrian patterns were preserved, a stage provided for lectures and performances and the taller grid elements were proposed to function as containment for rainwater harvesting. The design uses shade trees, seating areas, and a configuration conducive to social interaction.
