Tree Care Webinar Available OnDemand
On August 3rd, Richard Gibney, RLA, ISA, presented a live and recorded webinar titled, "Trans(Plant)ing Today" which honed in on the different techniques of transplanting trees, when to take the time to transplant them, and downsides to each technique. Gibney featured many real-life examples and how they can be implemented.
Gibney explained that not all trees make good candidates no matter how much you'd like to move the planting. He went on to state that transplanting is a form of preservation.
Attendees learned about American Standards for Nursery Stock, Critical Root Zones, soil volumes based on size, and methods to use including ball and burlap, hydraulic spade, bare root, root washing, and pneumatic spade.
