Then, a graduate student at the University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS), Daniel Lim was awarded the 2025 Anthony and Johanna van Sweden Landscape Architecture Award from SEAS and the 2025 Student Honor Award from the Michigan chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA).
At the Berkeley College of Environmental Design, the Landscape Architecture Foundation (LAF) announced Grace Diebel (MLA 2025) as a National Olmsted Scholar Finalist. Chair Walter Hood was named as the 2025 Commencement speaker. Further, Jie Han (MLA 2024); Chenyi Wang, Kexin Zhang, and Jiangyi Du (MLA 2025); and Abigail Barton (MLA 2026) were recognized at the ASLA Northern California Chapter Student Design Awards.
In South Carolina, Clemson celebrated graduates with two ceremonies. In late April, the annual Undergraduate Awards Ceremony was held. Several program students were recognized for their achievements including Cate Williams as the University Undergraduate Olmsted Scholar for 2025, Anna Tucker with the Don Collins Founders Awards, Emma Rocchetta and Caroline Yell earned the Connections Award, Kennedy Johnson and Jamin Ward received the Spirit of the Studio Award, Jamin Ward also received the Leadership and Service Award. The Mickel Fellowship in Landscape Architecture Award was presented to Bailey Morre and The Anna Lou and Robert Marvin Travel Fellowship was granted to Isabel Goodin. Graduate Landscape Architecture students commended for their achievements included Kai Koopman with the ASLA Honor Award and the South Carolina Chapter of the ASLA Award, Michael Tyler earned the ASLA Merit Award and the Faculty Book Award, Jordan Livingston was honored with the Olmsted University Scholar and Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant Awards, Clay Katzman earned the Graduate Design Communication Award, Celia Castellano earned the Promising Scholar Award, and Guadalupe Franchi was named the Spirit of the Studio.
The University of Colorado Denver celebrated the Spring 2025 Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 17. Aidan Nowell (MLA) was recognized as the College of Architecture and Planning's Outstanding Graduate (for the Landscape Architecture program).
At Texas Tech, Matthew Matlock was named a Banner Bearer - an outstanding student chosen based on their all-around achievement, that carried banners representing their colleges. The Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources graduation was held on May 15. The Davis College was honored with the 2025 Campus Internationalization Award in April for their outstanding contributions to Texas Tech's internalization efforts.
At the University of Texas at Austin, Thai Landscape Architect, Kotchakorn Voraakhom spoke at the college's commencement ceremony on May 10. Purdue hosted their commencement on May 18, honoring 13 undergraduates. At the University of Southern California (USC), the School hosted its commencement ceremony on May 16 - an exhibition of student work was on display following the festivities.
The Washington State University Landscape Architecture program celebrated its 50th anniversary this year which also marked a successful accreditation visit. Commencement was held on May 3 and commemorated scholarship recipients like the Endowed Scholarship for Diversity in Landscape Architecture award winner, Katia Montes, Ken Struckmeyer Student Scholarship winner, Christina Torres, John E. Hoffman Memorial Scholarship winners Jada Allen, Claire Berns, Miriam Castenada, Emma Diaconu, Gabrielle Dionisio, Saul Guerrero, Riley Kennedy, Vianey Pereira, Sophia Silveria, Victoria Weingarz, and Washington State Federation of Garden Clubs Scholarship winner, Zach Record.
In North Carolina, NC State University hosted its graduation celebrations on May 2. The Dean's Award for Outstanding College Citizenship and Academic Excellence was awarded to Amira Slocum for her student research on the experiences of students in landscape architecture from across the country. The study was featured at the 2023 ASLA Conference on Landscape Architecture. Four students were commended for their 2025 ASLA Honor & Merit Nominees, Hannah Clarke, Kathleen Elliott, Jules Mainor, and Kelby Stallings.

Spring marks a season of growth and fresh new beginnings. With that, students nationwide graduated from the 96 accredited landscape architecture programs (44 undergraduate and 52 graduate programs). Marking the next step of their chapter.
Here are a few accolades the programs recognized to future Landscape Architects in the Class of 2025.
Issam Azzam at Harvard was selected as the graduate 2025 National Olmsted Scholar which included a $25,000 award. Olive Tang, an undergraduate student at the University of California, Davis was awarded the undergraduate 2025 National Olmsted Scholar recipient.
