Achievements in 2024
The National Association of Landscape Professionals continues to drive progress across the landscape industry in the U.S., focusing on advocacy, professional development, and peer-to-peer education.
Training and Education Initiatives
In 2024, NALP expanded its range of resources to further support the professional growth of landscape professionals with the launch of the NALP Learning Hub, which includes eleven new business management certificate courses for landscape professionals and eight new Landscape Business Management Series publications.
The annual ELEVATE conference and expo was held in November in Charlotte, South Carolina and saw continued growth, with diverse sessions for CEOs, executives, and manager level members. This year's conference emphasized new industry trends, peer learning, and successful business strategies, further establishing ELEVATE as a premier event in the landscaping industry.
NALP launched its inaugural Women's Forum event at ELEVATE, with more than 125 attendees participating in round table discussions, networking, and education.
NALP Field Trip events were held at Landscape Workshop and Sebert Landscape, offering hands-on learning experiences, connecting industry leaders, and fostering knowledge-sharing within the community.
Advocacy Efforts
NALP's commitment to the landscaping industry includes a robust advocacy agenda. In 2024, they strengthened partnerships with government agencies and NGOs to address regulatory challenges. Key advocacy initiatives centered on reforms for H-2B visas, workforce policies, pesticide regulations, and advancing the industry's shift towards battery powered equipment. NALP's proactive approach reflects its commitment to shaping policies that positively impact the industry's growth and sustainability.
National Collegiate Landscape Competition
A highlight of 2024, the National Collegiate Landscape Competition took place at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. The event drew nearly 650 students from around the country, providing them with networking opportunities, connecting them with company recruiters, and showcasing industry career paths.
Renewal and Remembrance
In July, NALP once again held its Renewal and Remembrance service event at Arlington National Cemetery and the National Mall, with over 500 volunteers joining to honor those who have served our country by beautifying these historic landscapes. This annual event underscores NALP's commitment to community and service, providing members an opportunity to give back through impactful projects.
